Samford University Concert Bands

Samford University Wind Ensemble

The Samford University Wind Ensemble is the flagship ensemble of the Instrumental Music Department and is considered one of the elite groups of its kind among colleges and universities in Alabama and the Southeast. The Wind Ensemble is comprised of the best wind and percussion players on campus. Membership is by audition or consent of the director. The ensemble surveys a wide variety of wind band literature spanning four centuries and gives several off-campus concerts in addition to on campus performances. Rehearsals are year round on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 until 5:00.

Samford University Symphonic Band

The Samford University Symphonic Band is open to all University students.  Rehearsals are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons following the completion of marching season in the fall.  The Symphonic Band performs exciting literature in an atmosphere perfect for students who want to use their musical talents and enjoy a fun atmosphere.
